REMINDERS HEPWORTH STUDIO

Hello, All!
This is mid-terms, which means you must have a total of 8 blog posts after this week to not have your final grade affected by 1/2 letter.
Take the time to catch up---
Also, please email me the title of your piece as well as the composer and composer's dates for the Italian studio  recital on April 18th.  Also, please email me the Italian text and the translations for the program notes.
This will be due by March 30.

Keep up the steady work!

REMINDERS

Hello, All!

Just a reminder to those who need to BEGIN blogging---we are in week #7, and half of the studio has yet to begin this requirement.  Your final grade will be affected by one half letter, so make sure you fulfill this easy requirement!
Also, memory tests are next week.  You will be required to sing your "assigned" songs by memory.

One more reminder: those going on tour will need to make up their lesson time (Thursday: Will, Eric, Doug, and Mary; Wednesday: Stephanie, Carl, Katie B., Austin, and Jamie).  Come by my office ASAP to get a spot----first come, first served.

Stay healthy, sing wisely, and represent WSC well!!!

Keep these things in mind....

Hello, All!

Three weeks stand between you and mid-term break at this moment, and that means three weeks to polish up those first assigned songs for your memory test.
Keep in mind that you should be blogging once a week, that you should be working on your translations, biographies, and items for your end of the semester notebook.
Those giving a recital: your first draft of program notes are due at the time of your jury.  If you have yet to get me your senior/junior recital request form and a printed order of your program, you need to do this ASAP.  Technically it should be turned in two weeks before your jury....which is coming up fast!
If anyone would like to attend my recital this week in Norfolk, it is held at the  Johnny Carson theater at 7pm.  Admission is free!
Other than that, keep working and doing such a fabulous job!

Keep Blogging!

Hello, Hepworth Studio!

I just wanted to send out a few reminders..... but first, I wanted to express my excitement to be working with such a strong and talented group of people.  This might be our best semester yet!

Some things to keep in mind:
1.  BLOG--once a week; include your assignments, your reflections about practice and performance, and your worries or concerns about repertoire and/or technique (if applicable).
2. Start working on your character studies.
3.  All copied music is due to Phil by the end of this week....your grade will be reduced.
4.  We only have 12 weeks (after this week) left in the semester...divide this by your total songs, and that should give you a good idea of how many you have to memorize per week.
5.  Senior recitals---get your jury scheduled and turn in your Junior/Senior recital request form ASAP.
6. Keep track of which Tuesdays you sing---get those to the office before noon on Mondays!
7.  Keep up the good work---we are off to a running start!
